CompTIA’s Network+ certification is a foundation-level certification designed for IT professionals with around one year of experience whose job role is focused on network administration.

CompTIA Network+ validates the core skills necessary to establish, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure networks in any environment, preparing you for a rewarding career in networking and cybersecurity.

Network+ is approved for DoD 8140.03. CompTIA Network+ shows what you can do, not just what you know, for the work roles of Technical Support Specialist, Network Operations Specialist, and Systems Administrator.

What you’ll learn

During the CompTIA Network+ (Preparation for Exam N10-009) course, students will learn:
Networking Concepts: Explain basic networking concepts, including the OSI model, network appliances, applications, cloud concepts, connectivity options, and more.
Network Security: Understand security concepts and network attacks to harden networks against threats.
Network Implementations: Understand routing technologies and important factors of physical installations; configure switching technologies and wireless devices.
Network Troubleshooting: Explain the troubleshooting methodology and address common issues related to networking, including cable, connectivity, and software problems.
Network Operations: Monitor and optimize networks to ensure business continuity.

Requirements

  • Recommended experience: CompTIA A+ certification and a minimum of 9-12 months of hands-on experience working in a junior network administrator/network support technician job role.
